Noxious Weed Board recommends reappointment of two incumbent members

Mendoza said Gross has served since 2013 and currently serves as chair; Engleman has served since 2021.
Mendoza reviewed the appointment process: the five-member volunteer board is organized by geographic areas set by the commissioners; the board posts vacancies, accepts applications, holds a public hearing and forwards its recommendation to the commissioners. The law requires that at least three members be involved in primary agricultural production, a condition Mendoza said the board maintains.
