Staff said the full delegation had adopted an amendment limiting the exemption to project site visits or educational field tours where no organizational business is conducted. The council voted unanimously to support the bill as amended and to transmit that position to the delegation.
The amendment narrows an earlier proposal so the exemption does not apply to meetings where WSSC or the planning board conducts organizational business; rather, it applies only to visits or tours intended for education or project observation and only when no official business is conducted.
Council Member Sales moved support; Council Member Jawando seconded. The vote was unanimous.
Staff noted the council would be informed if further amendment language is proposed by the delegation.
