Cassandra Pruitt, the Planning Hearing Officer, granted renewal of two permits Jan. 22, 2020 to allow Shakey’s Pizza Parlor to continue operating an on-site arcade and to continue the on-site sale, service and consumption of beer and wine at 1133 South Glendale Avenue.
Case planner K. Azadi told the hearing the restaurant has occupied the site since the 1970s, that beer service began in 1971 and the arcade use was first approved in 1982, and that staff recommended approval. “We are recommending approval of the conditional use permit and administrative use permit with conditions,” Azadi said.
