Resident urges commission to prioritize Washington Square park feasibility study funded by Measure X

Nina Juric, a Washington Square resident, used the public-comment period on Jan. 23 to urge the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission to prioritize a feasibility study for a potential neighborhood park.
Juric told commissioners the community identified a willing seller for a walkable park nearly two years ago and that the group has identified Measure X funding ($100,000) to pay for the feasibility study. She said the feasibility study has been through multiple revisions and is not yet out to bid; she asked the commission and staff to keep the neighborhood “top of mind” when the project advances to bidding and funding discussions.
Juric requested that the commission work with residents and city staff to identify funding sources and next steps once the study is complete.
