Pico Rivera libraries offer free COVID tests, diapers; Lunar New Year event planned

Lauren Talbot, community library manager, gave a brief public update on library services during the meeting’s public-comment period on Jan. 14.
Talbot said free COVID test kits are available for pickup at both Pico Rivera library locations during regular hours. She also said, thanks to Baby2Baby, free diapers in sizes 1–6 are back in stock at the Pico Rivera Library, with a one-pack-per-person-per-day limit due to high demand. Talbot invited families to a Lunar New Year celebration at Rivera Library on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 4 p.m., noting the program will include stories and art to mark the Year of the Snake.
Talbot signed off the public comment by thanking the mayor and council for the opportunity to update the community on library offerings. These services were shared as informational public comment and not acted on by the council at the Jan. 14 meeting.
