Commission approves expanded hours for Broadway restaurant; entertainment category details deferred

The Chelsea Licensing Commission on Jan. 9 voted to approve a change in hours for L Kioskocco, a restaurant at 212 Broadway, to Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The change replaces the prior schedule of Tuesday through Sunday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Rebecca D. Emmonson, appearing for attorney Turco, represented the new owner, Yuri Correa, and said the owner wants to add Monday service and to open earlier at 11 a.m. Emmonson asked the commission to clarify entertainment categories on the existing license; she said the applicant does not intend to host live shows and said DJs were not currently planned.
The commission and staff confirmed they were approving the change in hours and that the entertainment license, as currently written on the issued license (not the application form), will apply to Mondays once the change is paid for and processed. The licensing clerk reminded the owner that entertainment devices must be shut down 30 minutes before closing to facilitate an orderly closing and patron exit.
Sergeant Chung of the Chelsea Police Department reported the department’s records for the address showed three calls in 2024 related to the location and said the business had called police when appropriate. Chung again emphasized cooperation on cameras and reminded licensees to contact police promptly and to retain 30 days of rolling footage so footage can be produced within 72 hours of a request.
Commissioners and the applicant agreed to defer any addition of DJs or live shows to a later revised application so the new owner can confirm what is currently listed on the issued entertainment license and, if desired, seek additional categories later. The commission approved the amended hours and the entertainment license to match what is currently listed on the issued license; the chair clarified that later requests to add DJs or live entertainment would require a new application and fee because those categories affect the licensing fee schedule.
The motion to change the hours and apply current entertainment categories passed by voice vote; the chair recorded the approval.
