Several residents used public comment to praise the new Prescott Valley arch on Glassford Hill at State Route 69, saying it has become a local photo destination and a community identifier.
Dean Hunt, a Prescott Valley resident, said the arch has been discussed for two decades and was funded in part with federal American Rescue Plan Act money "and was within federal guidelines," he said. "Night after night, myself included, day after day people are coming to snap a picture of their sweet ride in front of the P V Arch," Hunt said, describing a steady flow of visitors who stop to photograph cars and pets in front of the structure.
Lori Hunt, who said she is affiliated with Prescott Valley Positive Voice, thanked the council for turning on the arch and for allowing residents to take photos. She also voiced a separate concern about alleged council email contacts (see related public comment).
Dean Hunt told the council the arch has prompted positive online attention and said the setup is safe and does not block traffic. "It's a highlight of our town," he said.
No council action was required; residents said they appreciated the project and photo opportunities it has created.
