The Arizona House Committee on International Trade adopted its committee rules by voice vote after a brief staff review of standard procedures and deadlines.
Luca Moldovan, research analyst for the committee, reviewed the model committee rules and highlighted the amendment deadlines: regular amendments were due by noon the day before committee (Tuesday) and strike-everything amendments by 5 p.m. two days before committee (Monday). He also said verbal amendments may be offered at the chairman’s discretion and reminded members that a quorum for the committee is six members in accordance with House Rule 9 C.
Vice Chair Michelle Pena moved that “the committee rules as printed and distributed be adopted.” The motion was approved by voice vote: "It appears the ayes have it, do have it so ordered," the chair said. The rules will be filed with the chief clerk per House Rule 9 C.
Ending: The committee moved from the rules vote into its scheduled presentations on international trade and trade offices.
