Boards approve reorganizations, audits and multiple resolutions; consent items pass

Directors of the Carpinteria Valley Water District and members of the Carpinteria Groundwater Sustainability Agency took several formal actions Jan. 8, approving consent-agenda items, electing officers and receiving the independent auditors' report.

The boards unanimously or by recorded roll call approved routine items including disbursement and vendor reports, quarterly compensation reports and staffing appointments. The boards also approved a clean independent-auditor's report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024 and adopted resolutions updating bank check signers and conflict-of-interest codes.

The meeting opened with roll call and moved through consent items. The boards took roll-call votes on each motion; several motions passed unanimously (5-0) where shown in the record. Item 4A (minutes of the Jan. 8, 2025 regular board meeting) was taken separately because one director abstained; the minutes passed on a recorded vote noted in the record as 4-1.
