Public Works staff said the variance could reflect contractor workload and scheduling pressures; the project includes a mid-April completion requirement tied to water conditions at the enterprise canal.
The board voted to award the contract to Mark Christman Trucking 5-0. Staff said the county's project engineer will oversee construction and the contractor is expected to begin work in coming weeks, with pouring and significant work scheduled for spring as weather and water conditions allow.
