The Brunswick Board of Education on Jan. 21, 2025 recognized three Brunswick High School students whose artwork won awards at the First Federal of Lakewood student art exhibit.
District staff said the exhibit is in its eleventh year and transforms the First Federal branch into a community gallery that drew more than 500 visitors and, for the first time, recorded a vote for every piece displayed. The board thanked First Federal of Lakewood and the high school art teachers for the annual partnership.
The board identified the three winners as Mike (first place), Maggie (second place) and Jamie (third place). A district presenter said the exhibit included 3-D art and strong displays assembled by the art department, and praised the high school’s AP art offerings as one of the pathways that helps develop students’ skills.
Board members and district staff praised the students and teachers and acknowledged that the partnership with First Federal gives the broader community a chance to view student work outside of typical family-and-friends audiences. No formal board action was required for the recognition.
