The Walnut Creek City Council met in a special session Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, and recessed into closed session to meet with labor negotiators and with legal counsel about existing litigation, Mayor Cindy Darling said.
"This special meeting is called for the purpose of holding a closed session related to the following. We have a conference with labor negotiators and a conference with legal counsel regarding existing litigation," Mayor Cindy Darling said at the opening of the meeting.
The mayor asked whether any member of the public wished to comment on the closed session and reminded speakers of the two-minute limit. "Does any member of the public wish to comment on the closed session? As you only get 2 minutes each," she said. No members of the public stepped forward.
The council then recessed to the 2nd floor conference room for the closed session. No public votes or decisions were recorded in the public portion of the meeting.
