The Walnut Creek City Council on Jan. 21 accepted the 2024 attendance reports for the city’s advisory commissions and directed staff to inquire about one commissioner who did not attend any meetings during the year.
Council member Wilk thanked staff for compiling the reports; Council member Silva moved to accept the reports with a caveat asking staff to contact the absent commissioner and determine the cause of zero attendance. Council member Silva and others praised the many commissioners who attended consistently.
The nut graf: council accepted the reports but specifically asked staff to follow up regarding a single commissioner’s lack of attendance and report back. The action recognizes volunteers’ service and seeks clarification before any personnel or appointment decisions are made.
A roll-call vote recorded ayes from all members present, and the motion passed unanimously. Staff will reach out to the affected commissioner and return information to council as requested.
