Mayor Winn read the proclamation into the record, which described the Lunar New Year (Tet) as an important cultural festival for Westminster’s Vietnamese and broader Little Saigon community. The proclamation noted local festivities and encouraged residents to attend the city’s Tet parade, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1 on Bolsa Avenue between Magnolia Street and Bouchard, with opening ceremonies at 8:30 a.m. and the parade beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Council approved the proclamation by a 4-0 roll call. City staff said applications for Women of Distinction would open Jan. 27 and close Feb. 12 and provided a schedule of ARPA park and playground projects under construction elsewhere in the meeting.
