The commission discussed whether an off‑leash dog discussion should be put on the March agenda and decided to include it despite a busy March docket.
Commissioners also raised longstanding questions about the municipal pool and the Cal Oaks site. Staff noted that the City Council will hold a priorities workshop on Feb. 10 (8 a.m.) to discuss capital improvement program (CIP) priorities; commissioners agreed that at least one commissioner should attend the council workshop and report back. Staff proposed scheduling a pool-status update as an administrative update for a future meeting (the aquatics-season update is tentatively scheduled for the July meeting), and commissioners suggested combining an update with any council-priorities information that emerges from the Feb. 10 workshop.
Staff said decisions about the pool are tied to council priorities and funding. Commissioners discussed whether to place the pool on the March agenda or wait for council direction; they opted to receive updates and designate at least one commissioner to attend the council workshop so the commission can report back to the full body.
The forecast also showed the commission’s tentative schedule of routine administrative updates, proposed discussion items and reorganization steps for March and later meetings; staff will circulate an updated forecast and meeting invites for the council workshop to commissioners.
