Council reappoints two members and names a council representative to Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

Mountlake Terrace City Council members reappointed two citizen members to the city’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee and selected a council representative during the Jan. 23 meeting.
The council voted to reappoint Bonnie Mercer (representing Friends of the Arts) and Dale Newman (representing the Nile Shriners) and to appoint Council Member Sonmore as the council’s member on the committee. City staff noted that the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee allocates lodging-tax revenues for projects that boost the city’s economy and that the committee’s structure is governed by state law.
A council member made a motion to reappoint the two citizens and the council representative; members approved the motion by voice vote and the mayor announced the motion carried. City staff said a committee meeting is scheduled for Jan. 29.
