Weber County amends west-side garbage fees, lowers county administrative charge

Wilkinson said, "So yesterday, we had on the agenda the first reading of an ordinance to amend our fees, for garbage collection in Western Weber County and the Uinta Highlands areas." Commissioner Gage Froy described the change as part of the county's ongoing effort to manage costs: "We're always happy when we can reduce the cost to our residents, rather than charge them more."
County officials said Weber County assumed responsibility two years ago for negotiating contracts with waste-hauling providers and that those negotiations produced better rates for many residents.
