The Wilsonville City Council on Jan. 23 approved its slate of council representatives and alternates to intergovernmental committees and internal city bodies for 2025–26, formalizing who will represent the city on regional transportation, water and economic development panels.
Mark Ottenett, the city’s public affairs director, provided the list of recommended appointments during a pre‑meeting work session and the mayor read the final slate during the regular meeting before the council voted to adopt it unanimously.
The assignments approved by the council include: councilor Dunwell as liaison to the Arts, Culture and Heritage Commission; council president Berry as liaison to the Tourism Promotion Committee; council president Berry and councilor Shevlin as the two council seats on the Wilsonville Metro Community Enhancement Committee (Berry holding position 1 and Shevlin position 2); councilor Shevlin as the city’s representative to the Aurora State Airport Master Plan Advisory Committee; Mayor O’Neil as the city’s representative on the Clackamas County Coordinating Committee (C4) and C4 Metro Subcommittee (with councilor Shevlin and council president Berry named as the alternates, respectively); Mayor O’Neil as the city’s representative to the Washington County Coordinating Committee (WCCC) (alternate: councilor Cunningham); councilor Dunwell as representative to the Willamette Intake Facilities Commission (Tualatin Valley Water District) and councilor Cunningham as alternate; councilor Cunningham as the city’s representative to the Regional Water Providers Consortium (alternate: councilor Dunwell); councilor Shevlin as representative to the Greater Portland Inc. Small Cities Consortium; and councilor Dunwell to the Willamette Falls and Landings Heritage Area Coalition.
Council president Berry moved to approve the list and the motion was seconded; the council voted 5–0 to adopt the appointments.
The mayor noted that several of the regional panels carry time commitments and thanked council members for serving as liaisons. Council members asked clarifying questions about time commitments and said they would notify staff if they needed relief or adjustments.
The council’s packet includes supporting staff slides describing each body and the expected council role. The city will publish the complete list of external and internal board assignments on its website and staff said they will follow up with meeting schedules and staff contacts.
The council approved the appointments as part of mayor’s business; no additional changes were made at the meeting.
