Warrington High School's Lady Warriors defeated the Orchard Farm Lady Eagles 45-32 in a varsity game reported live by broadcaster John Mayer. The announcer said Warrington led 27-14 at halftime and extended the margin to 40-23 after three quarters before finishing with a 13-point victory.
The win gave the Lady Warriors a 5-7 record, according to the broadcast. Warrington built an early lead through inside play and free throws in the first half and maintained control despite Orchard Farm's full-court press attempts.
Early in the game the Warriors pushed the pace and converted repeatedly in the paint; Mayer described multiple successful drives and rebounds that sustained the lead. The broadcast recorded a stretch in which Warrington outscored Orchard Farm and forced turnovers, then held a sizable lead entering halftime. Warrington also capitalized at the free-throw line late in the third quarter, keeping Orchard Farm from closing the gap.
“Congratulations to the Lady Warriors on this big win against Orchard Farm,” broadcaster John Mayer said on the air after the final horn.
Mayer noted the teams are scheduled to meet again on Valentine’s Night, Feb. 14, at Orchard Farm’s new gym, giving both programs a chance for a rematch later this month. The broadcast did not provide a full box score or individual final point totals for every player.
