Miami County seeks to replace roughly 100 courthouse windows; Planning Commission approves aluminum frames to match historic profile

Miami County officials told the Troy Planning Commission on Jan. 22 that the Miami County Courthouse at 215 West Main Street needs a near-complete window replacement because of rot, poor energy efficiency and nonfunctional sashes.
Michael Clary, Chief Administrative Officer with the Miami County Commissioner's Office, said the county proposes aluminum-framed windows custom-profiled to replicate the appearance and sash depth of the originals. "Our proposed project seeks to preserve the aesthetic and historical integrity of the building, but also ensure energy efficiency and responsible management of our maintenance costs," Clary said.
