Senate restores Aeronautics Commission rulemaking authority for airport licenses

Senator Carley asked whether removing the rulemaking authority in 2019 had caused problems; Wheeler answered that he was not aware of any compliance problems to date but said the bill is preventive to avoid future issues.
The roll call on final passage recorded 32 ayes and 2 nays; the presiding officer declared the bill passed. The sponsor said the bill would not expand rulemaking authority beyond what the commission historically exercised.
