North Montco technical center open house set; board hears capacity study and JOC leadership news

Board members updated the community Jan. 23 on planning and capacity at the North Montco Technical Career Center and announced an open house for Jan. 30.
Board member Resch said the joint operating committee (JOC) received a presentation from a Montgomery County planning manager and reviewed a capacity‑planning study performed by GKO Architecture. The study will examine how many students should be attending the center and whether additional programs or internal reconfiguration can expand capacity without immediately building new space.
Resch said the JOC added five new programs in recent years, increased enrollment by about 250 students at the Tech Center in recent years and will form an ad hoc committee to review the 2025–26 budget. He invited volunteers to the ad hoc budgeting meeting on Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
Board members also noted that Al Roesch (North Penn’s JOC representative) was elected chair of the JOC. The board agreed to ask the JOC to provide an annual presentation to the standing school board so families and school communities can learn about new programs and enrollment opportunities.
