Board member Skrocki explained the application was timed so any award notice, expected in May, would coincide with the district’s phase‑2 bidding window for its facilities project. He said an independent analysis by Energy Tool‑Based Consulting Group was required for the application and was included in the submission.
Skrocki said the district is pursuing multiple grants and listed a potential total of $768,000 in grant funding for the project if other awards are secured. He recapped payback estimates included in the board materials: an 11‑year simple payback if no grant money is received, and a seven‑year payback if grant funds are awarded.
Facilities director Slaughter was identified in the meeting record as the staff member responsible for preparing the application. The board voted to approve the application; the district said it will evaluate whether to proceed with the project if grant funding is not secured.
