Senate Judiciary adopts standard committee rules for 2025 session

The Senate Committee on Judiciary adopted its proposed committee rules for the 2025, 83rd Legislative Assembly on Jan. 21, 2025, voting to approve rules dated Jan. 21, 2025 and posted on OLIS.
Vice Chair Thatcher moved that the proposed committee rules for the 2025 83rd Legislative Assembly dated Jan. 21, 2025, and available on OLIS be adopted by the Senate Judiciary Committee. The motion carried on a roll-call vote called by the clerk.
The adopted rules are the standard rules the chair said are being used for policy committees this session; the chair noted some committees (for example, ways and means) may have different rules. After the vote the committee recessed from hearing room E to hearing room F to join the House Judiciary Committee for an informational overview from the Oregon Judicial Department.
