Pre‑employment drug testing: County staff told the board the county will narrow direct THC testing to a subset of departments. ‘‘This is just to kinda solidify which departments will continue with the THC direct testing as part of our overall drug screen panel,’’ a county staff member said. Under the change, the sheriff’s department and corrections will continue with THC testing; most other departments will drop from a five‑panel test to a four‑panel panel that excludes THC, staff said. Commissioners and staff said the change has already helped recruitment efforts.
