The Rockingham County Board of Commissioners approved several contracts and a grant amendment at its Jan. 23 meeting to outfit the sheriff’s dispatch and patrol operations with new furniture, ruggedized mobile data computers and mobile printers.
The board voted to award an RFP for ‘‘dispatch emergency operations center furniture’’ to Hertz Furniture for an amount not to exceed $17,752, contingent on securing state grant funding for the purchase. The board also approved a contract award for ruggedized mobile data computers and mobile printers to Connection for an amount not to exceed $30,058; county staff said the MDT and printer grant will cover most costs but that the county will provide a local match for some units.
‘‘The printer side of things, the printer and the mounts are 100% funded by the grant. The computers and the computer mounts are 75, 25% split,’’ a county staff member explained to the board when commissioners asked how much would be paid from the county budget. The staff member added several of the computers will come out of the sheriff’s operating budget and that the submitted bids came in under budget.
Separately, the board approved an amendment to the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety equipment grant application for fiscal year 2025 to cover mobile data terminals and eCRASH equipment. The transcript records the grant amendment motion with the amount as read into the record; county staff indicated printers are fully covered by the grant while laptops carry a grant/local match split.
Commissioners approved the contract awards and grant amendment by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
