Judge revokes Michael Mora’s deferred supervision, sentences him to eight years

The ruling followed the state’s allegation that Mora tampered with his GPS monitor while on community supervision. The prosecutor told the court the violation concerned an incident on or about July 3, 2024. Defendant Michael John Mora acknowledged issues while on supervision and, when asked by the court, said the reason was “wrong decisions,” according to the hearing record.
The court found the alleged violation true, granted the state’s motion and revoked Mora’s community supervision. The judge imposed an eight-year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and ordered restitution to identified victims named in the court file.
Prosecutor Megan Galloway announced the state’s motion and proposed sentence. Defense counsel acknowledged Mora’s limited compliance on supervision and asked the court to consider alternatives; the court nonetheless adopted the state’s recommendation for adjudication and prison time.
The court also advised Mora of his limited right to appeal and explained that, because this is a felony conviction, he is prohibited from possessing weapons or ammunition. The record shows the court credited Mora with any time already served.
