The Uvalde CISD board approved a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) amendment Wednesday with Broadus Construction to install security vestibules across multiple district campuses.
The superintendent presented GMP Amendment No. 1 with a guaranteed maximum price of $2,276,964. The project will add vestibules at Batesville School, Dalton Elementary, Morales Junior High, Uvalde Dual Language Academy and Uvalde High School, the administration said. Trustees were told the work will be covered with grant funds allocated for security improvements.
The board authorized the superintendent to finalize negotiations and to execute the final amendment in a form approved by legal counsel. Trustee Suarez moved the approval and Trustee Quinones (noted in the record as Canones in the motion line) seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Ending: Administration will finalize contract documentation with Broadus Construction and proceed with project implementation under the approved GMP and grant funding.
