Hopkinton school leaders told the school committee on Jan. 23 that the town’s adaptive playground project is on hold after mixed results from town review bodies and a directive from the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) to suspend further expenditures.
According to the update, the CPC had voted on Dec. 13 to allocate $300,000 toward the adaptive playground. The project’s original CPC grant, approved at May town meeting, was $100,000; through schematic design the district has spent $65,625.
