Board members and staff also discussed PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) data collection and noted that each school has collected data differently; the superintendent said the district will implement a common data system and intends to present a district social‑emotional‑learning strategy and a coordinated SEL intervention plan in a future meeting.
Board members also raised prevention strategies, including staffing (school resource officers and behavioral staff) and other supports. The superintendent said SRO placement is constrained by municipal police staffing in at least one town and that other preventive measures are under consideration. The board asked administration to return with a plan showing a common reporting system, SEL interventions and measures of intervention effectiveness.
