Planning commission recommends approval of Village at Trappers Loop concept plan for 45 townhomes

On Jan. 23, 2025, the Morgan County Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval to the County Commission of the Village at Trappers Loop concept plan, a 45-unit townhome development on about 8.45 acres southeast of Lee’s Marketplace.
Planning Department staff told the commission the project, in the RM-15 multiple-family residential zone, meets minimum code requirements after review by the county engineer and the fire department and was evaluated under section 155.400 of the county code. "Staff is recommending approval of this item tonight," the staff presenter said.
The concept plan shows 45 townhome units on 8.45 acres. The applicant was listed in the staff report as Wayne Johnson and the property owner as Sotterby Ltd. Staff said the applicant was not in the audience but that an agent was present. Member Bishop moved to recommend approval to the County Commission; Member Maloney seconded the motion. The commission voted unanimously to carry the recommendation.
As a recommendation to the County Commission, the action does not approve final plats or building permits; the proposal will next go to the County Commission for their review and any formal decisions required for subdivision approval or permit issuance.
