Planning board approves Bergeron Construction site-plan modification for Matthews Road office

The West Swanzey Planning Board voted to approve a site-plan modification for Bergeron Construction that adds a small office addition at 358 Matthews Road.

Board members voted on a motion to approve the modification; the motion was made by Planning Board member Michael York and seconded by Mark. The vote was recorded as a voice vote with members responding “aye”; no opposing votes were recorded in the meeting transcript.

The applicant described the change as a 28-by-24-foot addition intended to create additional office space and relieve cramped interior conditions. The applicant also said the addition would require a building permit and a revised site plan to be filed with the building inspector and land-use office. Board members and staff said the modification met setback requirements and that parking appeared sufficient on the existing lot. The applicant said updated site-plan pages would be provided to staff; the board noted an updated copy of the original site plan was expected for the file.

Board members discussed minor technical items — the applicant said interior stairs had already been filled in and that signage and other work would follow after this approval. The applicant stated the addition’s size in two places during the meeting (a 28x24 dimension and later “about 500 square feet”). The board did not identify any outstanding waiver requests; staff said the modification was straightforward and that the applicant should coordinate the final site-plan drawing with town staff and the building inspector.

Following the vote the applicant confirmed they would supply updated drawings and contact staff by email.

The board did not take any additional formal actions on related signage or other forthcoming changes; those items will return to staff review and, if required, subsequent review by the board or building inspector.
