Westmont approves three-year dispatch IGA with Addison; first-year cost $826,079

The Village of Westmont Board of Trustees on Jan. 23 approved a three-year intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Village of Addison for police and fire dispatch, fire alarm monitoring and business-hour administrative call coverage through the Addison Consolidated Dispatch Center (ACDC).

The first-year price under the agreement is $826,079, with projected increases to roughly $894,000 in year two and $970,000 in year three, Manager May said during the meeting. “The 1st year for pricing is $826,079 with annual increases after that,” May told trustees.

Why it matters: Dispatch services are essential to public safety operations, and the contract represents a large, recurring expenditure in the village budget. Chief Gunther and Manager May said options for alternative dispatch providers are limited, and trustees noted that ACDC provides consolidated dispatching for police and fire functions for the village.

Board members voted to approve the IGA by roll call. Trustees commented that although the cost increases are sizable, ACDC performs the service for the village and other options are constrained.

The agreement covers police and fire dispatching, fire alarm monitoring and answering of administrative calls; the village will budget accordingly for the multi-year commitment. Manager May and Chief Gunther offered to return with any additional contract details if trustees request further review.

Next steps: The village will execute the IGA and incorporate the contract amounts into the FY25 budget planning and future years’ projections.
