Staff described a procedure used in the current cycle to reduce campaign signage at city hall: signs were removed nightly at approximately 5 p.m. and permitted to be returned at 7 a.m.; staff reported this reduced the overall number of signs and increased compliance. Council members clarified the city is not responsible for policing or storing candidate signs during the election period while the Supervisor of Elections is conducting early voting on city property.
Both items passed by roll call. Council approved the chambers request for early voting by unanimous vote (Mayor McPartland — yes; Vice Mayor Jones — yes; Council member Dixon — yes; Council member Dodd — yes; Council member Nunn — yes). The community center polling‑location request likewise passed unanimously.
