The RSU 5 Board of Directors on Jan. 22 approved several routine and personnel items in a series of motions with no dissent.
Minutes and agenda
- The board approved the minutes from the Jan. 8, 2025 meeting as presented. The motion passed with no opposition.
Policy first reads
- The board voted to accept for first read three policies: EEA (student transportation), EEEA (student transportation employee requirements, training and responsibilities) and GCOA (supervision and evaluation of professional staff). The policies will return for further review and a second read before final adoption.
Stipends
- The board approved two stipend positions with no net budget impact: a Mass Landing School gaming club stipend (to be funded by a reallocation of unused drama stipend funding) and a third Freeport High School senior project coordinator (funded from a stipend previously assigned to a fishing club that has not run). Administrators said both actions carry no budget impact because existing stipend funds are being repurposed. The motions passed with all members voting in favor and none opposed.
Other motions
- The board also took routine motions to move items through first-read/second-read policy processes and to adjourn; those motions passed with no opposition.
