Kindergarten meet-and-greet set for Jan. 30 at nine elementary schools

A district staff member announced a kindergarten meet-and-greet for Thursday, Jan. 30, at all nine elementary schools where families can register children for the 2025–2026 school year.

The event will let parents register students on site and tour classrooms so families can meet school secretaries and teachers, the staff member said. Families should bring a birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency; staff will enter registrations on district computers so administrators can estimate kindergarten enrollment and plan class sizes and staffing.

"At the meet and greet, you will get to register your child and meet our wonderful secretaries at each of the 9 elementary schools," the district staff member said. "You need to bring your birth certificate, your immunization records, and also your proof of residency. And they will then get you set up on a computer and you will get to register your child for school."

The staff member said families also will have the opportunity to meet teachers, tour classrooms and ask questions about the school day and expectations. "The benefit of coming to the meet and greet is you get to see the school your child is going to be attending, and it also gives you an opportunity to see the classrooms, be able to interact with the teachers, and ask any questions that you might have," the staff member said.
