The Needham Conservation Commission on Jan. 23 said it will post updated wetlands protection regulations and a summary of changes for public comment and expects to vote on the regulations at its next meeting.
Chair Dave Harrow said the town counsel had returned minor formatting and wording suggestions that were incorporated. Commission staff will post the regulations and the summary on the commission—s web page and accept public comment. One staff change noted in the discussion was re-labeling certain internal guidance as a policy so that the document reads as a coherent regulatory package, a change the commission said makes the document "sound a little meatier" and clarifies enforcement expectations.
No formal vote was taken on the regulations at the Jan. 23 meeting; commissioners were asked to take a final look at the posted materials. The commission plans to consider a vote at its Feb. 13 meeting, after the public-comment period and staff posting are complete.
