Needham revitalization fund readies promotional video, sponsorship page and volunteer cleanup

The Town of Needham Revitalization Trust Fund on Jan. 23 said it has a fundraising video nearly complete, will pursue an online sponsorship page, and is planning a second Charles River Street cleanup that will seek volunteers including scouts and students.
A Trust Fund member said a voice-over promotional video is being completed and will be distributed via YouTube and social channels; the video will be reusable across seasons to raise awareness of past projects and solicit donations. The committee discussed asking JP (town web staff) to create a web page listing “projects waiting for funding” so prospective sponsors can review opportunities and commit support. Meeting remarks said JP is currently away but will be asked to post project write-ups and sponsorship details when he returns.
On the Needham-to-the-World profile series, the committee reported that writer/producer Ben Karlin (Needham High School class of 1989) responded and is reviewing a draft biography; Karlin is based in London and the committee said he has agreed to review materials and look for photos. The committee plans to follow up if additional edits or photos are needed.
Volunteering: the committee said it will begin organizing a Phase 2 cleanup of Charles River Street and will recruit scouts, students needing community-service hours and other volunteers; organizers aim to schedule the event before plants leaf out in early spring.
Votes at a glance: the Trust Fund approved its Dec. 2024 minutes by voice vote, with the motion seconded by Carol and the chair declaring the minutes approved. At the meeting close the committee moved to adjourn; the motion was seconded and the chair declared the meeting adjourned.
