The Richland County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine resolutions and one construction contract award at its meeting.
The board authorized annual memberships for the county engineer's office in the County Engineers Association of Ohio, the American Road and Transportation Builders Association and the National Association of County Engineers. County staff said membership costs will be paid from the auto license and gas tax fund.
Commissioners approved a resolution permitting the county engineer to utilize stormwater management practices in county highway, bridge and drainage improvements, and a separate standard resolution permitting the county engineer to utilize "force counts" as described in the agenda materials.
The board awarded the Baseline Road bridge replacement project to Crawford Construction; staff identified Crawford Construction as the apparent low bidder at $113,270.70, which staff noted was below the engineer's estimate.
The board also approved the procedural change allowing the county engineer or the engineer's designee to issue routine overweight and oversized vehicle permits to speed review (see separate article).
Each motion was approved unanimously by the commissioners present. Votes recorded: Commissioner Romero — yes; Commissioner Beers — yes; Commissioner Banks — yes.
No formal controversies or recorded no votes were noted in the transcript for these items.
