Jackson County superintendent outlines 40.6% enrollment surge, three new schools and bond plan

Dr. Philip Brown, superintendent of the Jackson County School System, told a Hoschton City meeting that district enrollment grew 40.59% between fiscal 2019 and fiscal 2025 and described plans for three new schools on the Highway 332/Boone Road site that the district says it will finance using existing E‑SPLOST revenue and a proposed bond.

Brown said the district has seen rapid growth at individual schools as well: "look at Jackson County High School. Almost 70% over that 6 year period," and he reported that West Jackson Elementary School is now back over 1,100 students. He said the district is planning three new campuses on the 332/Boone site and has hired a construction management firm to work with architects on the projects to reduce costs.
