The Peabody City Council on Jan. 23 approved Mayor’s appointment of Sheila D’Ambrosio to serve as an alternate member of the Peabody Historical Commission.
Mayor (name not read on the record at the podium) presented D’Ambrosio to the council, noting her long community involvement with the Brown School, Green Peabody, Saint Ann’s and the Peabody Historical Society. D’Ambrosio addressed the council briefly: “I am so happy to finally be on this commission,” she said, and thanked the council for the appointment.
Councilor Charco moved to approve the mayor’s appointment of Sheila D’Ambrosio, of South 7 Clinton Road, to a one‑year alternate term; the council voted 11–0 to confirm the appointment.
The council subsequently received other appointments to be considered later in the meeting; members agreed to take the remainder of the mayor’s appointments after hearings to expedite the evening’s agenda.
