Rodriguez said Judge Vasquez and Catherine Jones of Criminal Justice and Corrections reported on a pretrial program for first‑time domestic‑violence offenders and Project Chance, a jail‑based program offering life skills, GED and parenting classes.
Commissioners and commission members said they want better coordination across agencies and community partners. Members noted gaps in services and the dependence on partnerships to fill them. The commission said it would schedule site visits to Project Chance and continue outreach to the district attorney, sheriff and police leadership to ensure cross‑agency collaboration.
