City council approves employment agreement for Michael Clark as building/fire code enforcement officer

The Angels Camp City Council on Jan. 21 approved an employment agreement between the city and Michael Clark for the position of building, fire and code enforcement officer.
Steve (staff member) told the council the agreement was consistent with the city’s practice of issuing individual employment agreements to exempt employees in addition to their memoranda of understanding and that the proposed contract contains terms in line with the city’s exempt labor group.
Councilmembers asked procedural questions about vacation accrual caps and how the agreement referenced existing memoranda of understanding for exempt employees. Councilmembers also offered praise: one member said, “I think Michael you are really gonna be an asset in our city,” noting prior positive interactions with contractors and staff.
After no public comment the council moved, seconded and voted to approve the employment agreement. The transcript records an affirmative roll call; the motion carried and the agreement was approved.
