Planning Board approves 2024 updates to Open Space and Greenway Manual

The Baltimore County Planning Board voted on Jan. 16 to approve the 2024 updates to the Baltimore County Open Space and Greenway Manual as amended by the Department of Permits, Approvals and Inspections.
PAI staff reported outreach to NeighborSpace at Baltimore County and other stakeholders following the Nov. 7 public hearing. Key amendments clarified recommendations for open space locations, differentiated open space and amenity/open space, and stated that changes to residential open space approved as part of a Planned Unit Development (PUD) should be treated as material amendments unless County Council resolves otherwise.
PAI said NeighborSpace provided a letter of support. After no further questions, the board moved, seconded and approved the manual on a roll-call vote. The Planning Board will forward the amended Open Space Manual to County Council for review and action.
