Berkeley County Commission: votes and approvals from Jan. 23 meeting

The Berkeley County Commission approved a slate of routine and budgetary items during its Jan. 23 meeting, including consent-agenda land-planning actions, personnel appointments and changes, a county budget revision, and an interagency memorandum of understanding for mental hygiene transports.

The commission approved the consent agenda, which included multiple bond reductions and releases for subdivisions and final plats, new-hire recommendations and resignations in the communications and prosecuting-attorney offices, and a building-permit-fee waiver for the Solid Waste Authority for a shed destroyed by arson. The commission also approved assessor exonerations correcting personal-property errors totaling $11,533.44, reappointed two members to the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), and approved a county budget revision (Budget Revision No. 5 for Fund 1) to recognize $1,408,863 in additional revenue and distribute it among several accounts. The commission approved a sheriff/county MOU to have court marshals, rather than deputy sheriffs, handle certain mental-hygiene transports.
