St. Mary’s County commissioners on Nov. 13 approved a public‑works agreement addendum for Leonardtowne Farms subdivision section 1 and accepted roads in Hickory Hills North sections 1 and 2 into the county maintenance system.
Public Works staff said Leonardtowne Farms section 1 is a new subdivision south of Leonardtown High School with about 70 single‑family lots; section 1 is the first of six and has infrastructure under construction. The approved addendum leaves an unchanged performance bond of approximately $1,181,000 and extends the developer’s obligations through the recorded expiration date; staff recommended approval following inspections.
Separately, staff recommended acceptance of section 1 and section 2 of Hickory Hills North—together covering 81 single‑family lots—and the associated streets (Athlon Drive, Brawny Street, Kilkenny Place, Edwards Court, Shannon Street and Curley Court) into the county highway maintenance system. The board authorized the county president to sign deeds and resolutions accepting the roads and to post a 25‑mph limit and stop signs in the development.
Both motions carried by voice vote after staff confirmed inspections were complete and bonding arrangements met county requirements.
