The St. Joseph County Council at its Feb. 14 meeting confirmed a slate of board appointments, approved minutes from prior public hearings and approved December 2024 legal services for the county.
Appointments approved included Dan Schutzel to the St. Joseph County Airport Authority Advisory Board (motion passed 8-1), Diana Hess to the St. Joseph County Early Intervention Board (8-1), Joe Thomas and Brian Tanner to the St. Joseph County PSAP Executive Board (9-0), and reappointments to the Public Defender Selection Committee (9-0). The clerk’s roll calls show the airport authority and early intervention board nominations each passed 8 to 1; other appointments were unanimous where recorded.
The council approved the minutes of the Dec. 10, 2024 and Jan. 7, 2024 public hearings by voice vote. In new business the council reviewed and approved Mr. O’Brien’s legal services for December 2024; that approval passed by roll call 9-0.
No contested confirmations beyond the two 8-1 votes were recorded in the minutes; the council did not attach conditions to the appointments on the record.
