Delegates clarified the facility currently holds a beer, wine and liquor license and are asking only to expand where sale and consumption are permitted. The delegation asked staff to draft an amendment encouraging a "good-faith effort" to include locally produced beers and spirits; Senator Ellis proposed adding a specified percentage for local products to be explored during drafting.
Police‑related measures: Two police-misconduct items were discussed as statewide proposals and were not advanced as county-only measures; delegates directed staff to work with judiciary and other stakeholders. Separately, delegates agreed to request a draft of legislation regarding special police officers commissioned by counties to provide protection to elected officials, with the delegation voting to submit the draft but to hold final action until the next meeting so drafters could explore whether a Charles County–only carve-out is feasible. The motion was recorded as a draft-and-hold, to be revisited.
Other votes: Delegates faced a proposal to dissolve the local gaming permit review board (no opposition reported), approved enabling legislation to prohibit operating unregistered motor vehicles (such as ATVs) on highways (passed), and rejected a proposal to require specific proof-of-identification as a condition for police to issue certain citations (motion to not support passed).
