Forsyth County schools to use week of May 5 as online learning for AP testing

Dr. Josh Low, presenting a calendar update, said the College Board released the AP testing window and the district plans to use the week of May 5 as an online learning week so high schools can schedule Advanced Placement testing without disrupting campus schedules.
District leaders approved the 2024–25 calendar in 2022, Low said, but the district waits each year for the College Board to publish exact testing dates before marking a specific week. “If you look, … this year, the AP testing window that we plan to utilize is the week of May 5th, as the online learning week,” Low said, noting the notation has been added to the already approved calendar so students and staff can plan.
Low told the board this was an informational update only; no vote was required because the overall 2024–25 calendar had been approved previously. He said the change is intended to help principals and high school test coordinators manage student movement on campuses during testing periods.
Board members offered no questions, and Low said he was available for follow-up if needed. The district plans to post the notated calendar online for public access.
