School committee approves $5.85 million in expenditures, two personnel side letters and other routine business

The Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical School Committee on Jan. 23 approved $5,851,030.95 in expenditures and completed several other routine votes, including approval of minutes, acceptance of a donated vehicle for the automotive program and two personnel side letters agreed to in executive session.
The committee voted unanimously to approve the expenditures, to accept the donation of a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro convertible to the automotive technology program and to approve a signed letter of agreement regarding employee term life insurance coverage. The committee also voted to approve a side-letter agreement with the Greater Lowell Teachers Organization to change Appendix B, the extracurricular salary schedule, as presented.
The meeting opened with roll call and a motion to approve the minutes of Dec. 19, 2024, and to waive the reading of the warrant; both procedural motions passed unanimously. The donation of the vehicle and the acceptance of a $5,000 career and technical education grant for the automotive shop were also presented and approved during the meeting.
